SEEING SEWAGE IN A WHOLE NEW LIGHT

January 9th, 2015

Lockport IL -The City of Lockport sewage treatment plant needed a way to monitor the entrances to the plant both on site and remotely.  One of the challenges was the extreme distance from the main building to the back entrance.  The current camera system was pointed in the general direction of the rear entrance but could not produce any useable images of those entering and leaving the plant, causing a security risk.

In November Heritage Technology Solutions, a licensed Illinois Alarm Contractor Agency located in Crestwood, provided a high resolution megapixel camera system to solve the problem.  In order to produce usable images and accommodate the distance to the back entrance, Heritage Technology Solutions installed a just released cutting edge megaxpixel camera manufactured by Axis.  According to the treatment plant manager, Joe Findlay, "Now we can see everything"!

The City of Lockport is planning on installing similar systems at the other plants in the future.
